Job Description
- Data architects is focus on designing, developing, managing and/or updating of data models (both logical and physical) of the staging, data warehouse and data mart areas
- Evolves data models to meet new and changing business requirements
- Oversees collection of business requirements for data needs
- Provides guidance and support for Data Governance, Master Data Management, Data Quality and Metadata Management programs.
- Overall accountable for maintaining metadata and data dictionaries and maintaining central metadata repository for data warehousing data models
- Maps logical data models to physical data models and the Data Definition Language
- Provide Source to Target Mappings from data models to provide basis for data integration (ETL) specifications.
- Develops strategies for data acquisitions, dissemination and archival.
- Communicates database designs to business and technical audiences, including business users, program sponsors, database administrators, ETL developers and BI developers
- Works closely with cross functional stakeholders to ensure buy-in of proposed architectures
- Guide the Solution Architect on data architecture in the development of the BI Solution
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an information technology field or Computer Science or related fields
- IT certifications, preferably related to architectural design; or Master’s degree with specialization inan information technology field.
- Strong SQL & PL/SQL skills with the ability to solve highly complex challenges
- Experience in designing for NoSQL database systems
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring, Hibernate, Oracle, Cassandra, Redis, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience in any one or more of the following areas is a plus:
- Data warehousing
- Big data analysis
- ETL tools
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting and collaborating with developers analysts, and business staff throughout the organization.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing to document data requirements and translate into technical solutions
