Mechanical Engineer | HVAC Design | MEPF Design Engineer  

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Apply technical engineering techniques and methods using international design standards such as US, UK, Asia and Middle East Mechanical Design Codes.
• Prepare drawing markups and other design related documents.
• Oversee the project's detailed design and calculation.
• Supervise the design and drawing markup processes.
• Ensure design resources are working effectively and efficiently.
• Conduct internal review and quality checks of engineering drawings and design calculations to ensure compliance with the project's requirements.
• Liaise with other disciplines within the MEP Project Team for coordination MEP works and ensure all requirements are understood.
• Prepare and register all relevant documentation and design reports and ensure all documentation is accurate and in compliance with the Arcadis requirements.
• Liaise with the Function Leaders and Design Manager to keep informed of all developments or changes associated with the project.
• Ensure that the other Design Engineers/Assistant Engineers/Graduate/Cadet Engineers supporting him/her are fully utilized.
• Identify risks and potential deviations to the project's required scope of work.
• Ensure compliance with the scope of work, time schedule and cost control.
• Deliver technically complete design documentation, summary reports and technical reports for Design Managers.

COMMERCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Record man-hour charges accurately into weekly timesheets and ensures correctness of project and non-project man-hour charges.
• To be fully utilized. Always seek new work/tasks from Principal Engineer/Function Leader.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Resource and develop skills and knowledge base of Design, Assistant and Graduate Engineers assigned to projects.
• Familiarize the Training and Development Scheme and render mentoring duties to all Design, Assistant, and Graduate Engineers based on the Competence Criteria.
• Liaise with BIM Manager and BIM Coordinators assigned to projects.
  

OTHERS:

• Work to achieve project delivery on time to budget and to a high standard in accordance with Client expectations.
• Take responsibility for defined tasks within prescribed limits.
• Gain experience and proficiency in Arcadis systems and procedures.
• Become familiar and compliant with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis.

• A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from recognized University.
• Registered Mechanical Engineer; or passed PRC licensure board exam for Mechanical Engineers.
• At least 2 to 3 years Design experience (Assistant Engineer); or 4 to 6 years Design experience (Mid-level Engineer), or 7 to 10 years Design experience (Senior Engineer) or above relevant post-graduate experience of Mechanical HVAC Design and/or MEPF (Mechanical-Electrical-Plumbing-Fire Protection) Design in Commercial / Institutional Buildings and Malls.
  • Experience in HVAC design and/or MEPF design on commercial/institutional / residential building projects and/or shopping malls.
• Good in spoken and written English communication skills.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to provide solutions to technical problems.
• Excellent mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations.
• Ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating and delegating skills.
• Organizational skills and proactive approach in protoct management.
• Highly proficient in the application of international design standards: US, UK, Asia and Middle East Codes.
• Highly proficient in the following mechanical engineering design fundamentals: heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, etc.
• Knowledgeable in AUTOCAD, REVIT and BIM environment.
• Highly proficient in using the following engineering software: REVIT IES, HAP, SKETCHUP and PIPEFLO and NAVISWORKS.
• Actively continue to develop personally and technical knowledge and new emerging technology through regular CPD training.
