Cloud Engineer  

Role Description

• Engaging highly creative and intellectually curious Cloud Engineer who is passionate about cutting-edge distributed computing. The candidate will play an integral part in advancing the Cloud eco-system and culture of technical excellence. You will champion the Cloud Management Platform, live and breathe Infrastructure Automation, support Hybrid Cloud Solutions, and display a strong understanding of Cloud-as-a-Service varieties: PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, etc.
• Building the next generation of Cloud infrastructure, you will make a key contribution supporting end-to-end private/public Cloud Automation IT and Infra application delivery, including Infrastructure provisioning and integration with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development platforms, using existing and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will have existing experience moving infrastructure to the Cloud

Main Responsibilities

• Building and improving the reliability and performance of cloud applications and cloud infrastructure deployed ,building the next generation of systems infrastructure, focusing on automation, operations, availability and performance

Key responsibilities

• Implement and Operate secure cloud application environments using private/public cloud infrastructure and platform services
• Automation of provisioning, self-service features
• Ongoing operational support and maintenance of the cloud systems
• Implement and support solutions in a cloud computing and virtualized computing environment / hybrid cloud architectures.
• Maintain documentation that include design specifications, cabling plans, IP and VLAN requirements, diagrams, test and acceptance plans,
• Interact with other IT and network project teams in a collaborative way to continuously improve
• Ensure implementation complies with Information Security compliance requirements
• Implement external Cloud Hardware, Software and services
• Performance and response tuning of systems

Critical Experiences

• 3+ years relevant experience as a Cloud Engineer
• Linux/Unix administration experience (Redhat) in a cloud environment
• Deep understanding of automated provisioning tools and technologies
• Experience/Knowledge with Java, Python, PHP, Perl, Ruby,
• Experience provisioning and operating on SoftLayer, AWS, Azure and other cloud service providers
• Experience with cloud orchestration tools and deployment (e.g. VCO / vRealize)
• Experience with SDN / NSX / virtual network automation and provisioning
• Develop scripts and glue code to integrate multiple software components
• Automate the provisioning of environments with Puppet, Ansible, Chef and the deployment of those environments
• Knowledge of technologies such as OpenStack, Cloudforms, Docker for future positioning
• Design and develop automation workflows, performing unit tests and conducting reviews to make sure your work is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for platform performance, and assessing the overall quality of delivered components
• Experience with Agile and iterative delivery
• Collaborate with the Network Operations team to Design, automate, and maintain: VPCs, subnets, Internet Gateways, ACLs, and Security setup

Education:

• BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
