Senior Developer | Data Scientist  

reach52 is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Data Scientist to take on the role designing and delivering enterprise dashboard and analytics solutions and integrations. We are rapidly expanding our userbase and need to continue to build our portfolio of insight related products that work in a challenging, off-line environment. We currently use document databases to replicate data between a master and the off-line applications. Our relationships within communities we serve, partners and other associates mean that we have to tailor our analysis to different consumers on different channels. We also plan to integrate external services to extend the reach and value of our data sets.

The role will involve the continuing the development of a core analytic technology solution with emphasis on cost and consumer value and existing investment. We want the job holder to be able to guide the team in development of solutions, therefore experience in analytics delivery, understanding consumer needs, problem solving and ability to learn is paramount. The specific technology we use can be learned or taught if necessary. Being a small but growing organisation, the person will need to be able to be flexible within this context as part of the role will be resolving issues arising across the platforms, applications and services.

ROLE SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The core role scope and responsibilities of the Senior Developer / Technologist will be:

• Proposing, managing and implementing technical solutions within analytics projects;
• Understanding and analysing user requirements and problems;
• Leading and assuring new solutions to analytic problems;
• Developing dashboards;
• Integration and Acceptance testing;
• Contributing to build and deployment of code;
• Implementation of security solutions;
• Providing data analytical guidance

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years’ experience in data analytics with lead roles;
• Ability to communicate well with developers and non-technical persons doth within the organisation and outside;
• Appreciation of the need for design and assurance in a fast-moving organisation;
• Experience of data storage and access in modern environments;
• Experience of the need for security and data privacy;
• Knowledge in a selection of the following and prepared to learn others as required:
  • Cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of one or more of Java / Kotlin / Python
  • NoSQL databases
  • Website / API security
  • Data cleansing and sampling
  • Questionnaire development
  • Data analysis techniques
• Ability remote work as a technology leader within teams;
• Knowledge of healthcare systems and/or technology is an advantage;
• Good written and oral communication in Tagalog and English, other regional dialects/languages is an advantage;
• Strong team working skills and flexibility to work as part of a small-but-growing start-up team
