Job Description
The Revenue Assurance Specialist performs a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Utilizes computerized accounting software programs to perform duties and responsibilities.
- Generates accounting statements and reports.
- Reconciles cash receipts, coding and posting of receipts.
- Reconciles and applies unallocated cash.
- Oversees PTO/Merchant accounts, accounts receivable write-offs and payment reversals.
- Develops automated spreadsheets.
- Organizes and maintains up to date financial records.
- Provides monthly financial and management reports.
- Maintains personal contact with Finance personnel of PTOs/Merchants on receivable matters as directed by manager.
- Reads, uses and is familiar with computer systems manuals and procedures, maintains and updates procedural manuals as needed.
- Assists in financial management and analysis, as requested.
- Organizes and maintains retention files for required period of time.
- Issues invoices to customers.
- Collects sales taxes from customers and remit them to the government.
- Ensures that receivables are collected promptly.
- Records cash receipts and make bank deposits.
- Conducts a monthly reconciliation of every bank account.
- Performs periodic reconciliations of accounts to ensure their accuracy.
- Calculates variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
- Provides administrative support to management as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed CPAs are preferred.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV accounting software package is a plus but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
- Must have excellent communication and writing skills.
- Ability to perform clerical work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, applying established procedures to varying situations.
