Job Description

  • Conducts safety risk assessments of all ABS-CBN facilities within his/her assigned area of responsibility and prescribe appropriate safety measures to address identified safety risks and hazards;
  • Ensures compliance of these facilities to all laws and regulations pertaining to occupational safety, building safety and fire safety;
  • Conduct activities to prepare employees at these facilities for major emergencies and disasters.
  • Performs a safety risk assessment of the facility using the methodology prescribed by Corporate Security and Safety Division (CSSD) and prepare/submit a report to the station head with copies furnished to the Head, Regional Network Group (RNG) and Head, CSSD.
  • Writes and submits for approval by station head the following: Station/facility safety program that is premised on the latest safety risk assessment and compliance to laws and government regulations pertaining to occupational safety, building safety and fire safety, Fire emergency contingency plan, Contingency plans for earthquake and other calamities
  • Conducts activities to implement approved safety program
  • Conducts training for employees on fire safety, basic fire-fighting, emergency evacuation and first aid;
  • Conducts annual fire drills for all facilities within his/her area of responsibility
  • Conducts activities to prepare employees for a major earthquake and other serious disasters/calamities
  • Works on securing updated fire inspection certificates for all facilities within his/her area of responsibility
  • Ensures that all facilities within his/her assigned area of responsibility have adequate number of emergency exits; structural design and material condition of these emergency exits are compliant with laws and government regulations; and passageways leading to these emergency exits are free of obstructions at all times
  • Conducts periodic hazard identification at all facilities within his/her assigned area of responsibility and prescribe to concerned station head measures to remove or mitigate such hazards
  • Conducts periodic inventory of fire-fighting equipment and coordinate with concerned stations heads for the procurement of equipment to comply with minimum requirements mandated by law and government regulations
  • Organizes and trains wardens, assistant wardens and emergency response teams (ERT) at all facilities within his/her assigned area of responsibility in conformity with the Office Emergency Organization Guidelines issued by CSSD.
  • Performs other related duties as directed by the Head, CSSD.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates must be a graduate of bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have at least seven (7) years of combined work experience in the field of occupational safety, fire-fighting, search and rescue, emergency medical response and disaster preparedness, at least supervisory or equivalent level
  • Must have OSH Certification (accredited by DOLE)
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Has experience in conduct of training survey; formulation and implementation of training programs and modules; project management;
  • Highly knowledgeable on laws and regulations pertaining to occupational safety, building safety and fire safety
  • Proficient in first-aid and emergency medical response
  • Qualified in fire-fighting and rescue; able to conduct fire safety and basic fire-fighting training for employees
  • Can establish and maintain rapport with DOLE offices with responsibilities on occupational safety as well as Bureau of Fire Protection relative to the issuance of annual fire inspection certificate and conduct of fire drills and fire safety training
  • Can formulate and implement a disaster preparedness program, organize and conduct training activities to prepare employees for major disasters
  • Must be willing to work on a project-based employment (2-3 years)
  • Location: Dagupan, Cebu, Bacolod and Davao (base offices)
