Job Description

Primarily responsible for the efficient and effective management of cases reported/referred through Bantay Bata Helpline by providing information and counseling or by assisting and endorsing their concern/s to respective welfare authorities and/or other sources/networks.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Child Helpline Services
    • Handles calls received through Bantay Bata Hotline
    • Update callers on the status of reported/referred cases.
    • Makes a follow through on cases by coordinating with different LGUs/networks.
    • Prepares/submits documents on cases received in accordance with the standards set for case documentation
  • Case Management Assistance
    • Prepares reports/documents as may be required.
  • Networking/Linkage Development
    • Networks with other child-caring institutions/SWOs/LGUs for case referrals.
  • Policy/Systems Compliance
    • Recommends policies/procedures related to specific areas of responsibility.
    • Complies with PMS requirements and with NCH/BB/AFI policies.
  • Personal Development
    • Prepares Development/Productivity Improvement Plan.
    • Ensures the attainment of set developmental objectives per approved plan.
  • Others
    • Perform other functions which may be assigned by the Immediate Superior from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Requirements to Hire:

  • Must be a licensed social worker.
  • Graduate of any Behavioral Science Course i.e. Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, etc.


Minimum Requirements to Train:

  • With exposure in child and family welfare setting.
  • With knowledge in child psychology.
  • With exposure in counseling children.

Minimum Skills to Hire:

  • Active Listening
    • Ability to empathize with the client.
    • Ability to help the client process his/her thoughts by validating his/her need to vent, to be understood, and to be heard.
  • Telephone counseling
    • Ability to offer individuals the same level of support and confidentiality as that of meeting face to face.
    • Ability to take initiative to structure the interview and systematically explore all aspects of the problem situation.
    • Ability to address the technical and emotional concerns of the caller.
  • Data gathering/Interviewing
    • Ability to interview/question the caller about the details of the report.
    • Can assist the caller to pinpoint an issue and can assist to clarify information that at first may seem ambiguous.
  • Problem Solving/Decision Making
    • Ability to decide on the next steps i.e. endorsing the client to appropriate network, based on the gathered information.
    • Ability to offer interventions that will empower the client.
    • Ability to let the clients develop their own strengths and utilize them when future problems arise, so they can independently manage their lives.
  • Oral and Witten Communication Skills
    • Ability to speak and write at an acceptable level.
  • Computer Literacy
    • Keyboarding skills at least 30 wpm.
    • MS Office Proficiency
    • Ability to use company desktop applications.
