Psychologist  

Position Summary

Primarily responsible for the provision of effective and competent psychological assessment and intervention services to the Children’s Village clients.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Psychological Assessment

1. Administer and evaluate psychological tests as basis of diagnosis and referral to other services, and formulation of psychological intervention for the children
2. Assess the children’s needs, abilities, and behavior using a series of psychological tests, interviews and direct observation of behavior as basis of formulation of appropriate rehabilitation plan
3. Collaborate with other disciplines (e.g. medical, social and productivity services) to ensure implementation of rehabilitation plan for children
4. Develop and evaluate psychological intervention plan to improve the children’s psychological well-being as part of the rehabilitation plan
5. Present psychological diagnosis during case conference to monitor the development of the case and formulation of rehabilitation plan

Administration

1. Facilitate group process and therapy sessions for children and other referred clients
2. Documents the process and results of therapeutic interventions and group process/therapy
3. Monitor and purchase psychological test materials for the consumption of clients in the Center to ensure accuracy during evaluation
4. Prepare and review psychological assessment/report of clients to ensure accurate and precise diagnosis as reference of other services in identifying other needs to be given to the clients

Networking

1. Coordinate with other CV units, BB departments, NGO’s, government agencies and private institutions in conjunction with client’s therapeutic interventions and programs

Professional Development

1. Attend and participate in seminars/conferences/consultations and academic trainings that enrich and enhance professional development
2. Attend and participate in activities and programs that contribute to personal wellness and well-being

Policy/Systems Administration/Compliance

1. Recommend systems/procedures for the improvement of task delivery related to specific areas of responsibility
2. Adhere to ALKFI Vision-Mission-Values and comply with ALKFI/HRD policies and systems

Miscellaneous/Other Services

1. Attend regular staff meetings and other initiatives as needed
2. Perform other functions that may be assigned by the Center Head

Knowledge:

• Government laws/rulings/issuance relevant to BB operations
• UNCRC and Pertinent Laws and Jurisprudence on the Rights and Welfare of a Child, Special Protection of Children, and Alternative Child Care
• Knowledge of human behavior and performance
• Psychological Assessment/Evaluation and intervention to address behavioral disorders among children
• Computer Applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Experience/Educational Attainment:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology preferably major in Clinical psychology or Special Education
• Eligibility: Registered Psychometrician/Psychologist
• At least one (1) year of experience on conducting psychological assessment and counseling
