Job Description
Position Summary
Primarily responsible for the time-bound management of cases of children in the Children’s Village.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Case management of children admitted to the Children’s Village
- Handle admission of children
- Conduct social case management on assigned cases
- Prepare the comprehensive social case study report with the helping plan for the child
- Implement the helping plan in coordination with other services and rehabilitation team
- Ensure that the needs and concerns of the children assigned to them are attended to
- Facilitate discharge and re-integration of the children to their families or other appropriate alternative child care arrangements
- Implement policies and procedures on intake, discharge and follow up care of CV clients
- Conduct home visits to families of CV children to gather more information, assess family conditions; and seek social support for the family and children to ensure their safety and prevention of recurring abuse
- Supervise and arrange family visits by setting up date, time and venue; facilitate family discussions to assess family dynamics, keep the children in touch with their family in a non-threatening atmosphere, and to clarify or work-out pressing issues concerning the child’s healing and future living arrangements
- Report outcome of home visits and family visits to the supervisor and recommend readiness of child to be transferred
- Prepare the required case records of all clients
- Prepare an updated case load inventory
- Maintain proper filing of all clients’ case records
- Coordinate with other stakeholders (e.g. school teachers, counselors, barangay) on children’s needs
- Responsible for the physical, emotional and legal preparation of children under care for eventual return to their home or other living arrangements
- Assist children during legal activities
- Ensure the psychological and physical safety of the children during inquests, hearing, investigations, etc.
- Make available pertinent documents needed by the legal counsel of the child
- Represent the Children’s Village in meetings; coordinate with house parents in carrying out policies on the rehabilitation of the children & take charge of the office and household supplies of the home, when designated
- Coordinate with volunteers, Hotline, External Affairs and Bantay Bata Production (Media Officer), when necessary
- Escort children for medical check-ups
- Link with allied professionals for the rehabilitation of the children and develop positive working relationship with Government agencies and non-profit organization
Administrative
- Act as executive on-duty to oversee the CV operations during night time
Policy/System Compliance
- Implement appropriate systems/procedures in the performance of duties and responsibilities
- Adhere to ALKFI’s Vision-Mission-Values and comply with ALKFI/HRD policies, systems, rules and regulations
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge:
- Government laws/rulings/issuance relevant to BB operations
- UNCRC and Pertinent Laws and Jurisprudence on the Rights and Welfare of a Child, Special Protection of Children, and Alternative Child Care
- Social Work Concepts, principles, Ethics, and Functions
- Case Management
- Child Development
- Family Code
- Dynamics of Victims of Abuse/Violence
- Gender Dynamics and Issues
- Paralegal counseling
- Computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience/Educational Attainment:
- Bachelor of Science in Social Work
- With valid Social Work license
- At least two years of relevant experience
- Undertaken trainings on Case Management, Paralegal work, Gender Sensitivity, Positive Discipline, Psychosocial and Support interventions for Abused Children

- Proficient in both verbal and written communication
