Job Description
- Ensures the efficiency and effectiveness of all electrical systems, instruments, equipment, fixtures and facilities in power substation and communication facilities
- Oversees the installation of electrical systems, instruments, equipment, fixtures and facilities in power substation and communication facilities
- Monitors the use of electrical equipment for efficient operations
- Designs new or improved electrical systems, fixtures and infrastructure
- Schedules and conducts maintenance activities for all electrical equipment, facilities and systems
- Supervises the calibration of electrical instruments
- Oversees the diagnoses and correction of electrical malfunctions. Troubleshoots plant electrical systems, instruments, equipment and fixtures to correct the problem. Approves recommended appropriate corrective action or recommends replacement
- Develops safe and efficient electrical systems, processes and procedures and standard safety and maintenance practices
- Oversees the work of subordinates in their daily activities to ensure effective execution of functions
- Complies with occupational safety, health, environmental, security and housekeeping rules and regulations to maintain optimal working conditions in the facility
- Performs other related tasks and functions as may be assigned from time to time
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed Electrical Engineer
- With at least 3 years working experience in power substations and communication facilities
- Knowledge on substation and communication facilities; its methods and processes, systems, controls, materials, instrumentation and equipment
- Understands the mandated electrical related rules and regulations, standards, methods and procedures
- Able to craft electrical plans and blueprints according to standards
- Skilled at operating and calibrating electrical instruments
- Has eye for detail. Able to detect flaws and inconsistencies in work processes
- Excellent in communication skills both in oral and written
- Critical thinker
