Job Description
The position is responsible for designing, controlling, and monitoring the actual execution of all civil works associated with substations, power stations, and communications facilities to ensure that the project will be done in accordance with all the approved construction drawings, contract documents, specifications, and all applicable standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports Site Project Manager in the execution of the project.
- Monitors contractual compliance with and adherence to contract terms and conditions, as well as technical specifications and other schedules/annexes thereto of the other party or parties to contracts
- Plans and analyses all possible construction methodologies and recommends the best options to the Site Project Manager for approval prior to execution at site
- Plans the execution of all civil related works and coordinates the works to electrical and mechanical groups
- Monitors the actual physical works at site
- Assigns targets for accomplishments and ensure targets are met on daily basis for all civil groups at site
- Submits site daily reports, inspection requests, estimates and all applicable monitoring reports on regular basis or as required
- Ensures that all the works done are in accordance with the approved construction drawings, contract documents, project specifications, and all applicable standards whether local, national or international standards
- Directly responsible for the safety of all civil groups’ personnel of the project by ensuring that the project execution will be done according to all applicable health, safety, sanitary and environmental standards
- Participates in the discussion and negotiation of subcontracts, engineering service agreements, and purchase agreements during the Implementation phase of the project, as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed Civil Engineer
- With at least five (5) years solid experience in power facility construction, administration, and project construction management
- Experienced in coordinating major construction and procurement agreements
- Knowledgeable in contract standards, terms, and conditions
- Able to interface well with the different groups in the company
- Very good in written and oral communication skills
