Job Description
The Draftsman is mainly responsible for the development of details, technical drawings, and construction drawings. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in the conduct of desktop studies (office work) to identify potential hydro projects including gathering and interpretation of supporting data.
- Participate in field reconnaissance, as necessary in order to accurately:
- Obtain measurements.
- Verify site conditions.
- Record in drawings and data sheets.
- Participate in the exploration stage of new projects which will include:
- Interacting with LGU’s and IP’s on site to explain.
- Helping them understand the development and effects of hydro projects in their respective communities.
- Develop engineering drawings and concept plans and presentations that effectively communicate required work to Contractors and Suppliers.
- Communicate with Design Engineers to explain the concepts and facilities that Hedcor is considering.
- Resolve design issues as they arise.
- Ensure accuracy of drawings for utilization of latest project design data including the following:
- Dimensions.
- Layout information.
- Drafting standards and completeness for construction.
- Perform engineering calculations, prepare technical specifications, and prepare construction programs.
- Schedule and document defining scopes of work for contract bids.
- Gather, prepare, and maintain engineering data, records, and reports for the projects.
- Demonstrate and apply technical knowledge of design practices, design codes, and standards applicable to Civil Engineering.
- Monitor changes on the design and update drawings and presentations, as necessary, in close coordination with the Engineering Designers.
- Manage, document, and follow procedures for Engineering Management, including the following:
- Quality control.
- Documentation of decisions.
- Administrative filing.
- Document control.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of highly restricted detailed engineering drawings and other project data.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed Civil Engineer.
- At least 2 years of related experience.
- Familiar or proficient in Civil Engineering softwares (ACAD, STAAD, SCADA).
- Willing to do field work.
