Job Description

  • The position is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the standards of project management. This position is also expected to drive the successful delivery of programs and projects in the project portfolio by supporting the capability building efforts and through performance evaluation and reporting.

  • Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of a project management methodology incorporating structures, standards, processes, documentation and reporting which is appropriate to the needs of the organization and puts emphasis on the quality of decision making and timely project delivery.

  • Maintain processes to ensure project management documentation, reports and plans are relevant, accurate and complete.

  • Maintain and update the project management framework and disciplines necessary to support a project management team.

  • Understand the deliverables of internal and external project stakeholders and contribute to the success of the project through cooperative and relationship-driven approach.

  • Conducts orientation and workshops on the project management methodology to support the project management capability building in the organization.

  • Participates in the planning of projects to ensure that project plans developed by the assigned project managers are comprehensive, realistic and agreed.

  • Manage project portfolio performance data and deliver relevant reports to the PMO stakeholders

  • Establish and maintain a resource management process to enable an effective monitoring of the high level allocation of PMO resources

  • Establish and maintain a risk and issue management process to enable a proactive monitoring of escalated risks and issues

  • Share lessons learned and best practices across projects and programs to derive value through application to other projects

  • Develop positive relationships with PMO stakeholders to enable the PMO to provide support including facilitation, tracking and reporting on projects

  • Act as the single point of contact for PMO queries and information and be an advocate for best practices in project management.

  • Leads in motivating both direct and indirect teams to ensure achievement of goals and to sustain an inspired and energized environment

  • Participates in the annual team planning and the ongoing review of the plans and related management requirements

  • Sets team and individual goals, discusses and agrees individual key performance indicators, and regularly conducts performance and career discussions with direct reports

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and planning skills;
  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
  • At least 5 years experience in project management performing functions from project initiation until project closing, and demonstrated experience in providing project management related services from a support perspective.
  • At least 3 years experience in any leadership role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance and Accounting, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology or other related 4-year course

  • Training attendance in globally accepted Project Management Standards (e.g. PMBOK, PRINCE2) Certification on PM standards, preferred

  • Expert in Project Management processes and principles

  • Program and Benefits Management processes and principles

  • Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgement, assertiveness
