Job Description

The Energy Sourcing Manager is a two-pronged function.

  • The position is responsible for procuring the least-cost power supply from internal and/or external generators via physical or financial contracts to sell to retail customers.
  • This position is responsible for enhancing the economic value of the Retail Team through the negotiation of price and commercial contract terms that align to the retail customers’ needs and enhances the retail portfolio supply mix.
  • The role is also responsible for reinforcing AP’s strategic position in key accounts that will undergo Competitive Selection Process (CSP).
  • Ensure that there is enough portfolio of supply to cater thecapacity/energy demand requirements of the customers of the Retail team
  • Negotiate and close the possible least cost power supply and
    favorable (to AP RES) commercial terms from internal and/or
    external generators via physical or financial contracts to sell to
    retail customers.
  • Ensure that supply is compliant with the relevant rules, such as but
    not limited to the Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS), and
    regulations in coordination with Commercial Operations.
  • Ensure complete documentation and necessary approvals of supply
    contracts are secured in accordance with the schedule of demand

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and planning skills;
  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or any 4-year related course
  • Experience in supervisory role with an established good rapport and network of connections with the sales group of power generators.
  • Knowledge in Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA)
  • Knowledge in Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM)
  • Knowledge in power supply agreements and other related agreements
