Job Description
The position is responsible for the delivery and management of project-related legal affairs, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements for AP projects.
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Conducts review of company's compliance with government regulations, ERC issuances, and DOE governance to ascertain all risks and obligations of company are identified, addressed, and met, and potential disputes are avoided
- Executes research studies and analysis of project-related problems/issues and recommends well thought-out defensive or offensive strategies
- Provides legal advice and guidance on project-related matters and keeps relevant stakeholders abreast of developments critical to business decision-making
- Develops contracts and negotiates for potential and existing projects
- Acts as resource during claims/defense and counterclaims, litigation, negotiation and court proceedings circumstances
- Partners with different teams for the implementation of projects by identifying, assessing and managing legal risks
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 5 years experience in energy related legal affairs and projects
- Experience in the power industry, preferred
- Licensed Lawyer with good standing in the Philippine Bar
- Knowledge and expertise on laws and regulations such as EPIRA, PPP, BOT, RE Laws, DOE regulations, and ERC issuances
- Contract negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and planning skills
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
