Technical Manager  

The Technical Manager for Solutions Engineering is responsible for building, establishing, and operationalizing a pool of solutions engineers, collectively known as the Solutions Engineering Group, that would execute software solutions to cater to the requirements of Corporate Strategic Units (CSUs) and Business Units (BUs) across the Group. To support the drive of maximizing internal talents and shying away from outsourced workers, the role shall lead the efforts in building required capabilities of team members in software development, establishing and ensuring the use of best practices in solutions development during project executions, allocating solution engineer resources to project assignments, and guaranteeing the sustainability of delivered software solutions. In close collaboration with the Transformation and Delivery Group, the Technology Manager shall ensure the efficient translation of business requirements into operational and sustainable technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Oversee delivery of projects involving a variety of technologies and ensure solutions align with long-term objectives
• Determine and build strategic technical capabilities of solution engineers needed to cater to the business requirements of CSUs and BUs
• Establish the use of best practices in solutions development such as but not limited to: source/version control, peer programming, task estimation, bug/issue tracking and release management to ensure on-time, and quality delivery of solutions
• Craft and establish processes to ensure proper turnover and knowledge transfer of developed technology solutions to end-users and application support team thus driving up the solutions’ sustainability
• Develop people and technology processes/practices that will ease the resolution time of reported issues in order to maintain acceptable stakeholder satisfaction rating
• Guide and provide input to all strategic as well as technical planning of software projects in order to ensure solution applicability
• Innovate and optimize engineering processes and standards and drive adoption throughout organization to drive operational excellence
• Manage joint development with 3rd party vendors as well as outsourced development in order to ensure harmonious partner relationships

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or any related field
• 8+ years of software development of commercial-grade systems and applications with a proven track record of building and leading successful engineering teams
• 5+ years of experience in leading software development and Scrum teams with a track record of successful project delivery
• Experience with the use of open source software and frameworks, CI/CV processes and tools, driving test and upgrade automation
• Expertise in managing Agile development & successful software delivery
• Deep conglomerate knowledge or previous experience working in the business would be a plus.
• Strong experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic business environment.
