Brewing Technologist for Supply Chain is a challenging yet rewarding and fulfilling role! AB Heineken Philippines (ABHP) is a new player in the country’s beer market, and our goal is to change consumers’ behavior when it comes to their choices for a beer. Of course, ours is premium, all-natural, and easy on the wallet – that’s why we are so far doing more than well. And in order to be a better player in the market, we first have to put that quality product into their hands. And that's where your skills come in!

You will be working in line with the defined and implemented global safety standards to support the implementation of the latest SHE standards as well as:

  • Monitor and ensures follow-up of HACCP standards in the brewery
  • Maintain and monitor GMP, Hygiene, HACCP of Brewing for the entire production process and all final products
  • Monitor and interpret all data from the quality control in the Brewing process, initiate proposals to continuously improve hygiene and product quality, and give advice in case of non-conforming products
  • Identify quality improvements, carry out troubleshooting, and lead efforts for corrective actions in relation with quality of product and its cost-effectiveness together with the related process owner
  • Build team improvement by involving Brewing operators and engineers in implementing projects successfully
  • Monitor all parameters of process, equipment and products to ensure the parameters including First Time Right process are done properly according to QC requirements
  • Train operators to support quality related activities in Brewing as well as on technological best practices
  • Support the TPM way of working and lead participation in a PQ-improvement team while providing Corrective Action Reports with known preventive actions and verification for Brewing issues' resolution
  • Ensure the use of latest standards and procedures, which are in line with HEINEKEN (and license partner) standards and legal requirements (auditing)
  • Guide Brewing in order to comply with process standards such as: HeiQ, basic recipes, process parameters
  • Proactively taking initiative for process improvement by doing trial to improve quality, cost effective process (i.e. extract losses, energy, water, chemicals, etc.)
  • Review HACCP risk for NPI’s and provide technological input to NPI projects on request
  • Sets-up validation protocols and first product release according to HEINEKEN Standards & Procedures
  • Lead in monitoring and evaluating new Brewing materials, product trials and pilot testing as well as doing relevant analyses related to them
  • Collects and processes quality data, documents trials, results and learnings, and executes reporting for advice to production management

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and planning skills;
  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Knowledgeable in Brewing and Malting Technology and Chemical Engineering
  • At least 2 to 3 years relevant experience in FMCG

We prefer someone who has experience in:

  • Quality and Food Safety Management Systems
  • Brewing / Utilities
  • Continuous improvement methodologies like TPM / Lean / 6 Sigma, etc.
  • Conversant in spoken and written English
