Job Description
The work:
- Assists in the design, coding, and configuration of web service applications
- Participates in testing and debugging of applications
- Assists in the deployment and documentation of applications
- Assists in gathering business requirements and translating them into technical specifications
- Adheres to specific development best practices and quality standards
- Works under close supervision and guidance
Minimum Qualifications
Here’s what you’ll need:
Senior Level
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Information Systems or other related courses.
- Must have at least 3 - 5 years of work experience in back-end development.
- Exposure to a formal working environment with experience in any of the following: Java, Node.js, C, C++, Groovy
- Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs
- Strong communication skills to work with clients and counterparts
- Excellent debugging and optimization skills
- Experience in Agile and Scrum methodology and practices
- Experience working with various design patterns, and the ability to identify the appropriate pattern for a given problem.
- Proven experience leading a team or mentoring junior developers
Lead Level
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Information Systems or other related courses.
- Must have at least 5+ years of work experience in back-end development.
- Exposure to a formal working environment with experience in any of the following: Java, Node.js, C, C++, Groovy
- Extensive knowledge of RESTful APIs
- Strong communication skills to work with clients and counterparts
- Excellent debugging and optimization skills
- Experience in Agile and Scrum methodology and practices
- Proven experience leading teams and projects, and ability to take on complex problems and find solutions quickly
- Proven experience in designing and implementing complex systems using various design patterns, with a deep understanding of the trade-offs and best practices associated with each pattern. Ability to mentor and guide junior team members in the application of design patterns.
Bonus points if you have:
- Familiarity with web security vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques
- Experience with web security best practices and technologies
- Ability to design and implement secure back-end systems
