Job Description
Hi there!
You're probably thinking.
What is this job ad?
Well, to answer your question
it's one that was written by the founder himself.
My name is Dan and I need you to know that whoever fills this position will experience a lot of growth.
You see, I've been there. I wrote job posts myself before
looked at others and saw almost all are carbon copies
5 years of experience, good attitude, achiever... that's a little too vague, isn't it?
I get it, maybe there's too much grunt work.
Maybe the bosses want a position filled in 2 weeks.
Everything is rushed to get things going.
That seems to have always been the norm
But is that the best approach?
I did some thinking...
I realized it has to start from the top.
It has to start with me if we want to challenge the status quo.
Yes, there's that saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"
Somehow I feel we can do better...
My goal is to humanize the company.
And I want you to help me...
We're still a startup so implementation will be quick
All I ask is for you to have plenty of ideas
We'll figure it out and test them along the way
Don't worry about failing, that's part of the process
I think if we play safe way too long we'll end up obsolete
This is what corporate bureaucracy is.
That's something I personally dislike.
I don't want us to be robots...
So again, if you have plenty of ideas but never had a way to implement them
This is your chance with us :)
I'll be straight with you...
We're going to start from scratch.
It'll be a fresh start and that's exciting!
I hope you see it the same way I do.
I read this book, HR Disrupted by Lucy Adams.
The pillars there are treating employees like adults
That is to not approach HR in a one-size-fits-all way
And to treat people in the company as human beings
We're going to adapt these and apply them pronto
I would love it if you read the book
I believe you'll make a difference in your field if you do.
So why am I sharing these here?
I believe in spreading value and good vibes to everyone.
I prefer to be in an environment that wants to be better all the time.
Iron sharpens iron
This is how a community progresses...
and I think it's important to set this tone for myself.
I understand that you may be working for another company too.
I suggest you give it a try to push for a more humanized approach
If you have a boss that's doesn't support changes though
With me, You'll be given freedom.
All I ask is for you to not settle to how things currently are
This is done through a constant search of doing things better
And that's where the fun begins...
I'm writing this so you can see who you'll work for
I'll support you as long as you continue to bring it and be positive
If you like what you see in here
Send us your CV along with your thoughts on all these.
By the way, those who read books will stand out ;)
The company is built in a culture of learning after all.
What would be the main focus?
Hiring? People Management?
It's really up to what you can bring to the table
With your level of expertise, we'll discuss it and see what we're to start
But if there's one thing you need to know
that is to expect this to be engaging and challenging
If you're up for it, we would love to have you!
Minimum Qualifications
At least have 5 years experience in HR preferably that specializes in one field.
It takes around that time to master a skill set and we're looking for those who can make an immediate impact with us. It would be best to let us know what you specialize in.
The basic stuff:
Payroll, SSS, BIR, Philhealth, Pag-ibig etc
Labor Law - We do want to change the status quo but we need to know if it's within the law
School?
Doesn't matter. I think what you applied AFTER you finished school is what matters.
And of course, high character :)
No politics. No BS. Show up and act like an adult.
We only want good vibes in the office.
Additional note. We are a startup.
We have to be wise with our spending so we focus on what matters:
