Job Description

We are 9grids. We are currently a team of 17 employees with a strong bond and who are very passionate and goal oriented. Everyone give at least 100% in each task or project assigned to them. We have been operating for more than 2 years now. We have a clear direction on both business strategy and most importantly, the culture that we want for our company.

The team is composed of mostly millennials who we are proud to work with because of their sincere desire for growth. They embrace challenges and have a radiating positivity that inspires the rest of the team. Their skills and personality are definitely at par with or even better than others who are already experienced. We also have experienced team members bringing in years of knowledge to inspire and lead the team. From someone who has won several awards from different advertising bodies, to directors and senior managers from different industries. The founder/CEO is very simple, and 95% of the time you’ll see him wearing shorts and slippers in the office. He is sometimes feared by some for his serious expression, but he is definitely very well respected and is the kind of person the company looks up to. As the HR Manager you will inspire, interact, and provide support to our most important asset: our people. You are expected to have the experience in knowing and understanding the needs of employees. Our company is very serious about the culture that we are cultivating. We value culture as much as we value talent. That’s why it is important that as HR Manager, your values should be aligned with the company’s. As HR Manager, you will also be expected to have a strong background in hiring and employee retention since we want to be able to hire if needed, recruit the best employees from other companies.

What would be your immediate role?

Hiring:

  • Help in coming up with new recruitment strategies to be able to attract applicants that are aligned with our requirements.
  • Partner with HR Admin in interviewing and screening applicants before endorsing their application to the hiring manager.
  • Recruit from the big companies if needed.

Employee Relations:

  • Be in charge of other responsibilities related to other facets of HR such as compensation and benefits, payroll concerns, and employee complaints.
  • Not only facilitate weekly team huddle and Friday culture talks but also make sure the culture of the company is being practiced and taken to heart by all the employees.
  • Searches, sources out and suggests training programs available in the market to Department Heads to help employees improve job skills.
  • Reviews and recommends all disciplinary actions including written reprimands, suspensions, notices/incident reports and terminations.
  • Orient new hires to make sure they know the culture and expectations needed when they start with the company.
  • Ensure that off boarding employees have successfully turned over their tasks and all collaterals issued by the company before clearance is signed.
  • Act as liaison between the company and outside legal and professional resources to ensure that all employment policies follow current laws and regulations.

Others:

  • Attend meetings with the CEO and COO for any strategic concerns.
  • Should be willing to do or be assigned to different tasks from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of BS/AB Psychology, Management, or any related course.
  • At least 5 to 10 years of experience in all HR facets, 3-5 years in a managerial level and has experience working with a start-up company.
  • Experience processing payroll and working with payroll processing systems thru HRIS.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.
  • Familiar with the payroll process and filing of all government-mandated payments (SSS, BIR, Philhealth, Pag-ibig)
  • Must be focused, result-driven, and flexible.
  • Empathetic and can communicate with the CEO and the rank and file.
