Job Description
We are looking for experienced SQL Database Administrators who will be responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrading, administration, monitoring, maintenance, and security of databases within the organization. This position also includes the development and design of database strategies, system monitoring and improving database performance and capacity, and planning for future expansion requirements.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Business intelligence solution development and support in MS SQL Server environments.
- Administration of SQL Servers.
- Troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
- Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Identify and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
- Ensure backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication and High Availability strategies for MS SQL environments are implemented.
- Write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints).
- SSRS report creation, Powerview design, Powerpivot
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements:
- Experience with MS SQL Server including use of Query Analyzer, stored procedures, DTS, Jobs and Profiler
- Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques
- Experience creating and maintaining an extraction, transformation, and loading process from source systems or files into a data warehouse
- Ability to extract data from a data warehouse and package according to user needs
- Understanding of XML
Education / Experience
- Microsoft Certifications desired
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field
- 2 - 3 years IT operation with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
- 3 - 5 years Microsoft SQL Server experience
- Experience with SAP HANA is highly desirable
- Fluent English written / verbal communication skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively on tight deadlines
- Able to interact professionally with a diverse group of customers
- A team player
