Build a Tech-Savvy Environment. Here’s How Telkomsel Creates an Opportunity for Tech Talents in Indonesia
With today’s rapid digital transformation and mobility, companies are required to adapt to all advances. This requires adaptive and innovative inventions for the company to strive internally and externally. How they adapt and how they maintain their image in the eyes of people become vital in terms of bringing the bright side of their employer branding.
Established in 1995, Telkomsel has consistently served the Indonesian people to get easy access to telecommunications from Sabang to Merauke. With more than 170 million customers, Telkomsel is committed to build a better society through their innovations, which are expected to bring Indonesia to a broadband-based society on a mobile technology roadmap.
As the biggest Telecommunication Company in Indonesia, Telkomsel aimed to improve its standing as one of the nation’s tech-savvy companies that is growing rapidly in the digital era. As a part of Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) or state-owned enterprises, a lot of people perceive the workplace of Telkomsel was less-digitized and outdated with today’s technological needs. But the fact is, Telkomsel always innovates through technology to accelerate the formation of Indonesia’s digital society. In addition, Telkomsel also actively encourages the positive use of technology through generations. With this proposition, Telkomsel aims to promote their company as an updated, digital-friendly, tech-savvy career place for Indonesian talent.
Analyze Their Needs from Scratch
Strategic and accurate moves are very much needed to bring fresh air. Kalibrr sought to find out the best approaches that would help Telkomsel achieve their objectives. We analyzed and translated each of their needs into an employer branding activation that will contribute to accelerated employer branding.
With the trend and high interest in IT, and because of the company’s need to embrace IT talent, Kalibrr and Telkomsel collaborated to create an end-to-end activation program whose main concept was a nation-wide technology competition called Telkomsel Tech Titans League.
Bringing Out the Best of Employer Branding Through Multiple Activations
Telkomsel Tech Titans League is a technology competition aimed to challenge tech-talents in Indonesia to showcase their capabilities of the latest technological insights and competencies. Over the three months period, we managed to hold a total of three series each with different themes, which are: data analytics, software development, and cyber security. Wrapped with a virtual format, Telkomsel wants this competition to be a momentum for candidates to share their knowledge and build networking between talents, communities, experts, and the internal team of Telkomsel. To serve candidates with the best place to share knowledge and networking, we also conducted a webinar session at the end of each series on Telkomsel Tech Titans League event.
Being responsible for end-to-end event management during the webinar, Kalibrr helped to manage the event from the very beginning. Starting from the registration period, raising awareness through social media ads, choosing suitable MCs, arranging high level timelines, executing the day of the webinar with OBs platform, until handing out surveys to the participants and reporting upon the completion of each series. Kalibrr always ensures that Telkomsel’s values will be executed properly and interpreted well to the public.
Telkomsel Tech Titans League webinars were held at the end of each series. This aimed to serve as a platform for Telkomsel to talk about their values and culture, announce the Tech Titan winners, and also provide a platform for communities to share their knowledge regarding the theme of each series. Kalibrr also reached out to the IT communities who collaborated to support a succession of competitions and webinars. With a total of three series, Kalibrr had successfully collaborated with three major IT communities in Indonesia to support Telkomsel Tech Titans League webinars.
Onward to a Better Tech-Savvy Environment in Indonesia
Through Telkomsel Tech Titans League, Telkomsel wanted to emphasize to the tech talent about the company values that are open to fresh ideas and innovations for a better digital environment in Indonesia. The company utilized competitions and webinars devoted entirely to IT talent to create a useful and impactful environment in a better tech-savvy environment in Indonesia.
The overall result for Telkomsel Tech Titans League was very impressive with achieving 85% of Net Promoter Score after project completion or equal to 4.4 out of 5 stars. The event also succeeded in gathering a cumulative of 500 tech-talents all over Indonesia throughout the three series.
With this result, Kalibrr and Telkomsel have successfully spread the awareness of Telkomsel's new employer branding to the public. Currently, we are preparing another series of Telkomsel Tech Titans League, which will launch shortly in 2021.
