Another day, another #lunchbreak! Some of the local companies in the metro have been coping with the new normal to the point that going to the office is being practiced again. But whether you’re going to work or working from home, the struggle to find affordable meals is over. If you’re in the McKinley Hill area, then we’ve got you covered! Here’s a guide to cheap and delicious restaurants and food deliveries at McKinley Hill.

The McKinley Hill area is relatively smaller and more isolated than other business districts like Ortigas or Makati, so it would naturally have fewer dining choices. But don’t fret; there are definitely other options you can choose from if you want to save some of your hard-earned cash.

Mazza Shawarma

This little restaurant is located between a bike shop and the lobby of the Woodridge Apartments across Piazza. Serving affordable Mediterranean food, it is often packed once the lunch bell rings.  The restaurant’s black and red interiors are warm and welcoming and the food is affordable. For Php 180, you can buy a beef shawarma rice bowl. Pair that with a can of soda for Php 35, and you’ve got yourself a filling meal well under Php 350. Other food options include beef, chicken, or kebab meals, (Php 190-280), and a sizzling burger meal (Php 230). Just remember to come early if you want to eat inside the air-conditioned area. They’re also available for pick-up orders through their Viber number, (0995)617-4502. If you’re craving Persian eats, you can also have it delivered through Grab Delivery and Foodpanda.

Empanada Nation

If you’re looking to satisfy your Filipino food cravings, try out Empanada Nation at Venice Grand Canal Mall. Try their Vigan Special Empanada for only Php 95 or their Bagnet Meal for only Php 185. If you want to order through delivery, order through their website, https://order.empanadanation.ph, and get 10% off your purchase. This restaurant can fill your tummy with your favorite Ilocano treats like Dinakdakan, Pinakbet, and Poqui Poqui. Your lunch break will surely give you enough energy to work through the afternoon slump.

Popeyes

Boasting 16 locations in the Philippines after the first branch in Arcovia, Pasig, McKinley Hill residents and workers can now enjoy Louisiana’s famous chicken for as low as 95 pesos with rice and drink! This restaurant chain is giving other chicken places a run for their money for their juicy and delicious chicken meals and filling burgers. When you need a serotonin boost for your lunch break, you can fill up at Popeyes Venice Grand Mall Branch or have your chicken meal delivered to you through Grab Food or Foodpanda.

Pan de Manila

This local panaderia sure has grown up. Aside from their tried and tested pandesals, you can now also buy doughnuts, coco jam spread, flavored instant coffee, and hot chocolate. Don’t forget to try some of their fruit popsicle bars! For the price of some pocket change, you can have snack time sweets, and that caffeine hit you need to get over that mid-afternoon slump.
