So You Want To Quit Your Job?

If you clicked on this article then it is highly probable that you are one of those people who are unhappy with their jobs but don’t quite know what to do about it. Your unhappiness may be caused by any of the following reasons: too much stress, a terrible boss, a boring job, a crazy tiring job, or a job that just doesn’t feel right.

You might think that quitting means you are a quitter, but that isn’t necessarily the case. Sometimes, it also means that you are brave enough to acknowledge that where you are isn’t right for you and that you deserve something better. You deserve a job that will make you feel accomplished. You deserve a healthy working environment that helps you grow and constantly learn each day.

Sure, your job is the reason you are financially stable right now. But don’t let money be the only reason why you stay in a company. Is it worth all the stress and unhappiness you feel each day? There are plenty of other companies out there that can give you the same financial benefits, and an even better working environment or a better position with tasks that you actually excel at or enjoy doing.

We weren’t meant to start somewhere and just end there. It is okay to explore, it is okay to try something new. Taking the leap might even be the best decision of your life. If you don’t like where you are and how you feel then change it. Only you can do that for yourself. In fact, you don’t even have to quit your company, maybe find out if there is another position open and if that is more suited to you and your skills.

Or stay employed for now but start sending out your resume. It doesn’t hurt to try. Once you go on those interviews, your eyes will be opened about the many other companies out there and what they can offer you professionally, financially, emotionally (that peace of mind that you just can’t seem to get right now).

You see, right now that you’re still in the process of thinking about it, the only options you have are staying somewhere you know but not necessarily like versus leaving. Period. You need to apply to other places in order to have something to compare your current job to. Otherwise, leaving just seems like a scary, unknown, and unpredictable thing. So take it one step at a time.

Apply. Assess. Make a decision. Life is short. And sadly, we spend most of it working. So you might as well be doing something you like! Some are lucky to land their dream jobs and love it. Not all of us are that lucky, but at least we can be happy. If you aren’t, then it’s time to make that change. Remember, quitting doesn’t make you a quitter, in this case, it makes you brave.
